On this page we have put together a few suggestions of easy to reach attractions which our guests have enjoyed visiting whilst staying with us. We hope it gives you an idea of the variety of attractions which are nearby but if you would like more suggestions please follow the links at the bottom of this page.
Althorp house, home of the Spencer family

Althorp House is the ancestral home of the Spencer family and offers an impressive range of attractions. From a tour of the house to the literary festival, a picnic at an open air concert and the award winning Diana exhibition, Althorp offers a diverse range of attractions. (5 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)

Award winning food at an award winning pub

The Saracens Head at Little Brington offers some of the best food in Northamptonshire and won both Pub Restaurant of the Year and Young Chef of the Year in the Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards 2012. The restaurant serves locally produced food with beef raised on our farm featuring on the menu. (10 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)

Accommodation close to the track

Silverstone Circuit. Silverstone offers a variety of attractions from the major international events such as Formula 1 and MotoGP to individual rally experiences and track days. (30 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)

Live shows, comedy and musicals

Royal & Derngate Theatres, Northampton. The Royal and Derngate theatres offer a diverse range of entertainment, often featuring nationally recognised productions and acts. Redeveloped and reopened in 2006, the theatres provide great entertainment and value. (10 minutes by train or 30 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)

A great family day out a short drive from the cottages

Warwick Castle is one of England's finest castles and provides an excellent day out. The castle has a large number of attractions aimed at children but also provides tours and exhibitions for adults. This is one of our favourite attractions and is really worth a visit. (50 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)

Quilting and patchwork workshop

The Bramble Patch. Britain's premier destination for patchwork, quilting and fabric arts. Whether you are looking for a project, some inspiration or a day class, The Bramble Patch is well worth a visit. It has a very well stocked haberdashery and sewing supplies shop too. (15 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)

Explore space without leaving the Midlands!

National Space Centre, Leicester. The Space Centre offers a great day out for older children and teenagers. We can't summarise everything on offer here so please follow the link to see more of what is on offer. (50 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)

Children love visiting Thomas and friends

Thomas Land. A very popular attraction for families with younger children, Thomas Land offers a dozen rides and plenty of entertainment within a few acres of park meaning there isn't too far to walk. Please check seasonal opening times. (1 hour by car from our holiday cottages)

Day trip to London

London. Trains from Long Buckby arrive at Euston in London allowing easy connection to the tube system. Our cottages provide a convenient base for a day trip to London during your stay making a trip to the capital an easy day out. (90 minutes by train from our holiday cottages)

Premiership Rugby

Northampton Saints. If you are looking for a top class sporting fixture whilst staying with us Franklin's Gardens is the place to go. Playing in the top tier of English rugby and featuring heavily in Europe, the Saints are pushing hard for the Premiership title. We suggest booking tickets in advance. (10 minutes by train or 30 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)

A day at the races

Towcester Races. Towcester racecourse is set in beautiful parkland a short drive from our holiday cottages. Entrance to most meetings is free and the race days offer a great entertainment for all of the family. (20 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)

Heart of the Shires shopping village

Heart of the Shires Shopping Village. A relaxed shopping environment in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside offering a wide range of shops set around a Victorian courtyard. (15 minutes by car from our holiday cottages)
